At Grace Doulas, we provide personalized birth and postpartum doula services designed to help families feel supported, informed, and empowered throughout pregnancy, birth, and the transition into parenthood.
Our birth doulas offer continuous emotional, physical, and evidence-based educational support for both the birthing mother and her partner or support person throughout pregnancy, labor, and birth. We remain with you through the immediate postpartum period, helping you and your baby transition together while offering guidance with breastfeeding and those precious first moments as a new family.
Our postpartum doulas provide compassionate, practical support during the weeks after your baby arrives. Whether you need help with newborn care, breastfeeding, light meal preparation, household tasks, or simply someone to care for your baby while you shower or get some much-needed rest, we're here to help make the transition to parenthood a little easier.
To better serve more families, Grace Doulas partners with a trusted network of experienced, independent doulas who share our commitment to compassionate, evidence-based, family-centered care. Each doula is an independent contractor with their own unique strengths and style while receiving administrative support through Grace Doulas. This allows us to connect families with the doula who is the best fit for their needs while expanding access to quality doula care throughout our community.
Whether you have Partnership Health Plan coverage or are paying privately, we would be honored to walk alongside you during this special season of life.

What Is A Doula?
A doula "makes birth better" by helping the pregnant mom and her coach navigate through the birth process in a similar way that a tour guide helps people navigate a trip to an unknown land.
A birth doula provides non-medical support to women and their families during pregnancy, labor, birth and immediate postpartum. She familiarizes them with what to expect during the birth process, showing them how to successfully work with the contractions together as a team, rather than fighting against them. She can provide a variety of comfort measures including different positions, warmth, massage, and a continual presence. Doulas never replace partners/coaches but are there to make them look like rock stars!
When a postpartum doula is brought into the “fourth trimester”, they provide emotional support, practical household help, and evidence-based informational help regarding breastfeeding and newborn sleep.
Benefits of Having a Doula
When a birth doula is present during childbirth there are significant benefits including:
decrease in Cesarean births
decrease use of medication pain relief
increase in birth experience satisfaction
increased Apgar scores for babies
decease in labor time
increased bonding
In 2017, an updated review of 27 studies from 17 countries involving over 15,000 mothers concluded that “continuous labor support is a rare example of a health care practice found to have many benefits and no known harms!”
